The first non-conventional, innovative methods exhibition was held in Kagote, Kabarole district on the 5th of October 2012. The event organized by Computers for Schools Uganda coincided with the teachers’ day celebrations under their umbrella organization, Uganda National Teachers Union, UNATU; held at Kagote Seventh Day Adventist hall.
This being the first of its kind, the exhibition attracted a number of high profile district officials with the Local Council chairman, Mr. Richard Rwabuhinga as the Guest of Honor. The event attracted various schools around Kabarole, with Canon Apollo Demonstration School, renowned for its excellence in Music Dance and Drama, performing the opening act.
The exhibition was carried out under the Education Pragmatic Program, EPP project, funded by Edukans foundation, a Dutch based organization; in partnership with Computers for Schools Uganda, CFSU and RWECO; coordinated by Ms. Lydia Kamba of CFSU, with Mrs. Elizabeth Rwamwenge and Ms. Jacinta Kabagenyi as the judges. The exhibition aimed at benefiting both teachers and students and a number of schools and students walked away with prizes ranging from; Dictionaries for the language department in their schools, fountain pens, water paint and brushes, with by Haibale Primary School winning the writers.
